Gabriel Sarriés

Gabriel Sarriés is Professor at Department of Exact Sciences, Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ), University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil.

He has a Master’s and Doctorate in Statistics, an MBA in Quality Management and over 30 years of experience in the fields of Data Science and Organizational Management. For the past 8 years he has been working with Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Visual Analytics.

He worked 5 years as a professor in the area of ​​statistics at University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and 5 years as a systems analyst at Center for Informatics in Agriculture, University of São Paulo – CIAGRI / USP. At CIAGRI, he headed the Research Support Sector, being responsible for a team of 28 people while also analyzing data for over 600 surveys. He was also vice director of that center for 4 years.

For 31 years has been a professor at ESALQ / USP, where he guides master’s and doctoral students in the Postgraduate Programs in Statistics and Agronomic Experimentation and in Applied Ecology. Currently offers classes in the areas of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Management, with 4 undergraduate courses and 5 graduate courses, one of them for the Masters in Public Administration offered under the CAU-USP Joint College, a partnership USP and China Agricultural University.
