Courtney Leimanis is the Engagement and Communications Manager for the Sustainability and Health Initiative for NetPositive Enterprise (SHINE) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. A passionate connector of people and ideas, she creates opportunities for partnership and engagement with corporate supporters and research partners across the SHINE community and develops strategies to amplify SHINE’s thought leadership on sustainability and well-being.
Courtney began her career supporting the nascent environmental movement in the former Soviet Union via a U.S. Agency for International Development small grants program to Russian educators and grassroots organizations. Her background includes strategic communications, marketing and business development, with experience across corporate, tech start-up, NGO and academic environments.
Courtney has an AB in Russian Language and History from Bryn Mawr College and completed Harvard Business School’s corporate responsibility program on creating business and social value. She has a certificate in Pastry and Baking Arts from New York’s Institute of Culinary Education but rarely bakes. Passionate about language, she has studied French, Russian, Latvian and Spanish and is currently working on Italian.
