The report titled Well-being and Equity as a Business Imperative Summary of the Harvard Sustainability and Health Initiative (SHINE) Research on Worker Well-being and written by Eileen McNeely of SHINE and Tamar Koosed of Manaus Consulting is now live on Levi Strauss & Co’s website.
Our team at SHINE developed the metrics and collected data on 13,318 workers in 15 factories and five countries around the world over a three year-period. Through this effort, we gained insight about the downstream effects of LS&Co.’s purchasing practices on factory resources and worker well-being. We mapped system-wide impacts according to a broad set of worker well-being and business performance measures.
